Accountant


Location: Lake Country, BC

Position Status: OPEN

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Our Lake Country, BC Client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. This is a dynamic role that supports various aspects of operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and vendor management.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process and code incoming vendor and subcontractor invoices

  • Match invoices with purchase orders and obtain appropriate approvals

  • Prepare and schedule payments (cheques, EFTs, online banking)

  • Issue client invoices and progress billings

  • Track receivables and follow up on overdue accounts

  • Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts

Payroll & Government Remittances

  • Process bi-weekly payroll

  • Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with labour standards

  • Calculate and remit source deductions to CRA, WSIB/WCB, and other provincial agencies

  • Administer ROEs, T4s, and complete year-end payroll reporting

Vendor & Subcontractor Management

  • Set up and maintain vendor and subcontractor profiles

  • Track and ensure receipt of contracts, WCB/WSIB clearance letters, and insurance certificates

  • Monitor payment terms and communicate to resolve discrepancies

General Ledger & Financial Management

  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger

  • Assist with monthly and year-end closings

  • Prepare financial statements and reports

  • Support project managers with job costing, variance analysis, and financial insights

Planning & Forecasting

  • Assist with budget development and cash flow forecasting

  • Identify financial trends and opportunities for cost control

  • Provide insights to support strategic business decisions

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field considered an asset

  • 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience

  • Proficient with accounting QuickBooks software and Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience with job costing and project-based accounting is an asset
