IT HELP DESK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Our Kelowna client, an industry leader in office technology hardware is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated IT Help Desk Technician to join their awesome support team. This position is best suited for someone that is both computer-savvy and skilled in customer service. That wants to work for a company where you like to work in a goal-oriented atmosphere that is also friendly and supportive. We’re looking for a Support Technician with quantifiable networking skills and customer service experience. As a remote support technician, communication skills and knowledge of computer systems, servers, and software is paramount. You are reliable, can troubleshoot and place importance on thorough documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming requests and issues related to all IT-related Managed Services.

  • Respond to requests either in person, over the phone, email, Teams or through the help desk system.

  • Respond quickly to email messages from customers and end-users seeking support.

  • Assist in completion of site surveys, remote installation of drivers and software.

  • Follow up with customers to ensure issues have been solved and the ticket has been completed.

  • Remotely resolve technical problems.

  • Ensure best practices are always followed.

  • Conduct post solution surveys and follow up support.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a Help Desk environment.

  • IP Networking: Knowledge of IPv4 Addressing, DHCP, DNS, VPN, LAN and WAN

  • Working knowledge of common operating systems and software applications (Windows & Mac OS).

  • Windows Server 2012-19, Active Directory, Group Policy, File and printer sharing

  • Windows 7-10

  • Office365 suite

  • Mac OS Yosemite – Catalina

  • Excellent phone skills, with a professional demeanour.

  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.

  • Demonstrate a friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.

  • Able to work in an extremely fast-paced dynamic environment.

  • Strong trouble shooting skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn, analyze, and troubleshoot new applications.

  • Working knowledge of web hosting

  • Working knowledge of Linux

  • Powershell scripting

  • Programming languages such as php, ASP.NET, perl, python

  • Cloud infrastructure like Azure, AWS
