PRODUCTION & SHIPPING LEAD

Our Penticton, BC client is hiring for an experienced Shipping & Production Leader to lead the production efforts of the organization. Duties include: demand forecasting, production planning, materials and supply purchasing, sourcing, inventory and logistics planning, as well as all facets of fulfilment and shipping to ensure we can meet customer commitments while operating efficiently and to the quality standards the client are known for.
This position is the liaison with external suppliers and service providers and internal departments including quality control, customer care, accounting and sales, which enables the company to deliver a quality product in a timely fashion to customers worldwide.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the production schedule
Monitor and oversee our Manufacturing process conducted via overseas manufacturers
Coordinate off-site testing and Quality Control Reviews of Products
Track & process samples through the approval process
Prepare progress and other reports as needed
Ensure manufacturing files for all products are up to date
Participate in business planning meetings to identify future forecasting needs
Maintain historical records on products, materials, processes, costs, etc.
Track inventory and order based on anticipated demand such that out of stock situations are eliminated
Create regular inventory reports on products
Manage inventory counts ensuring accurate and complete records and reasonable inventory for demand
Upkeep & participate in changes to our custom software system for inventory management, fulfilment, shipping, repairs & returns
Resolve inventory variances
Develop & Coordinate the repair and refurbishment programs for our products internationally
Track repair and refurbishment data
Coordinate training of service providers and provide ongoing updates on repairing our products
Manage all testing for units whether done via manufacturers or outsourced service providers
Source suppliers for materials as well as services (e.g., Manufacturers, Freight Forwarders, Warehousing, Fulfillment, Repairs, Graphic Designers, Photographers, Copywriters etc.)
Negotiate prices and cost savings measures and ensure new prices and costs are updated in our systems
Update Production and Supply Chain documents such as Purchase Orders, Reports, Inventory, etc.
Create and upkeep all procedural manuals to do with production and shipping.
Stay current on Production and Supply Chain best practices
Oversee the warehouse and ship orders from Canada
Receive and inspect returns
Receive, process and ship customer repairs
Review shipping and customs documentation and resolve discrepancies
Track shipping costs and provide reports as required
Monitor and ensure accurate recording of fuel surcharge rates and costs
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in supply chain management or manufacturing and production
5+ years of experience managing all aspects of inventory, supply chain or purchasing
Knowledge of supplies, equipment and/or services procurement and inventory control
Meticulous ability to maintain records, filing systems, databases, etc.
Proven ability to create workflows and schedules which result in desired outcomes
Experience with ISO systems a plus
Advanced communication skills, orally and in writing including the ability to listen
Sound analytical thinking
Excellent organization skills including planning, prioritizing, and time management
Strong diplomatic, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
High level of proficiency with computers, software
