SENIOR BOOKKEEPER


Location: Kelowna, BC

Position Status: CLOSED

Our Kelowna, BC is a well established commercial builder. They are currently hiring a Senior Bookkeeper to execute the day-to-day accounting functions and activities for the company. This person will be managing the department on their own, therefore they must be a self-starter, independent, hard-working and proficient in full-cycle accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable – issue Purchase Orders, gather and verify invoices, work with the project managers to allocate the costs to specific jobs, process invoice and payment entries, prepare cheque & EFT runs.

  • Accounts Receivable – Prepare customer invoice entries as advised by the project manager and bank deposits.

  • Monthly reconciliation of bank & credit card statements

  • Reporting – prepare monthly financial reports for ownership review and analysis

  • Payroll – collect, input and process & pay bi-weekly payroll via EFT. Verify & process employee expense reports

  • CRA – manage all government remittance accounts in an accurate & timely manner including, GST, Payroll, Corporate tax, Employee Benefit tax & WCB

  • File Year End CRA requirement including T4’s, Annual WCB & EHT reconciliation

  • Prep year end files for Accountant

  • Maintain historical records of all invoices, receipts & statements

  • Perform additional tasks & special assignments by the Project Manager & business owners

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience of full cycle accounting

  • A quick learner with attention to detail

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel & other MS Office Applications

  • Sage 100 experience & job costing experience a bonus
