CONTROLLER
Location: Kelowna, BC

KAN Recruitment is now recruiting for a full time, permanent Controller position for our Kelowna client in the storage industry.
We are looking for an experienced financial controller to undertake all aspects of overseeing daily finance operations, including financial reporting, preparation of financial statements, risk management, cash flow, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Mentor and provide guidance to small accounting team
Create and manage internal controls, systems and processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy of systems
Auditing of historical financial information for reliability and compliance
Participate with the senior management team, representing finance
Work with General Manager & President to create financial projections each year
Communicate with General Manager & President regarding financial decisions
Additional controller duties as necessary
Requirements:
Proven work experience in accounting
5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Advanced degree in Accounting preferred
CPA or CMA preferred
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end
Must have a strong working knowledge of Quick Books
