CONTROLLER

Location: Kelowna, BC

Position Status: CLOSED

Our Kelowna, BC based client is looking to add a Controller to their team.

Reporting to the President, the Controller is a key leadership position in the organization that assists the President in driving financial performance and strategic business decisions, with both financial and operational responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be expected to drive strong performance management across both finance and logistics by providing oversight, leadership, technical expertise in implementing systems and processes, and improved information flow for business decision making.

This position is responsible for all aspects of financial and logistics management, including but not limited to: corporate accounting, treasury and cash flow management, inventory tracking, procurement, statutory compliance and reporting, financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, as well as the development, implementation, and monitoring of appropriate policies, procedures and workflow.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting in areas of shipping, logistics and cross-border transactions

  • Budgeting and forecasting

  • Accounting for manufacturing or production considered an asset

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills

  • Supervising staff

  • Month-end close, financial reporting, and audit requirements

  • Understanding of accounting for multi-currency transactions

  • Use QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics 365 an asset

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing or logistics environment

  • 3+ years experience as a Controller

  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation preferred

  • A motivator and contributor to a positive and results oriented team environment

  • Results focused

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders

  • High degree of integrity and professional ethics
