ACCOUNTANT - Financial Planning & Analysis

Our amazing client, BigSteelBox - Canada’s most diversified shipping container company is looking to add a permanent Accountant to join their growing team at the central support office in Kelowna.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will enjoy the exciting challenges that come with a high- growth and rapidly changing landscape.
The position is full-time Monday to Friday, starting as soon as possible. Offering a competitive base salary dependent on experience, an annual incentive program, a competitive benefits package, and a company-matching RRSP program that kicks in after 3 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with people from all areas of the company to prepare the annual budget, and quarterly forecasts, including facilitating and challenging assumptions
Review and provide monthly commentary on results and explanations of significant variances and areas of risk and opportunity
Assist in long-term strategic planning across the organization
Provide value-added decision support to the business by helping others achieve their objectives and optimize business unit profitability and efficiency
Support ongoing improvements and implementation of new processes and procedures
Compile, analyze and prepare various financial/statistical information and reports
Perform business analytics and build financial models consolidating information from multiple sources
Assist with the development of corporate dashboards and key metrics
Provide back up to the Finance Manager in their absence including staff supervision
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration
CPA designation with 3+ years of financial planning and analysis experience
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to a dynamic environment
Experience working with an ERP system, along with advanced Excel skills and the ability to manipulate large amounts of data for analysis
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and variances which need to be investigated
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Manufacturing experience would be an asset
