Customer Service/Storage Assistant

Salary: $22.00/per hour

Our client, a well-established storage facility in Kelowna, is seeking a regular part-time employee to join their small team of three. The ideal candidate will work 3 days per week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) until January 2025, increasing to 4 days per week (Wednesday through Saturday) from January onwards. This role is best suited for a self-motivated, personable individual with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail. As this position involves both indoor office tasks and outdoor physical duties, we are looking for someone who is active, enjoys interacting with customers, and is comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

Inside Office Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Greet and assist customers and delivery personnel in-person.

  • Phone Support: Handle incoming calls, answer inquiries, and provide information on storage services.

  • Rental Management: Promote and rent storage units to customers, explain rental agreements, and help them understand facility procedures.

  • Payment Processing: Handle transactions through POS machine, cash, and e-transfers.

  • Administrative Tasks: Utilize self-storage management software to manage tenant accounts, print statements, scan documents, and send emails.

  • Move-in/Move-out Support: Assist customers with the move-in and move-out process.

  • Opening/Closing: Independently manage the opening and closing of the office as needed.

Outside Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean vacated storage units, including sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping them down. Cleaning supplies are provided, and a golf cart is available to facilitate these duties.

  • Public Bathroom Cleaning: Ensure the facility’s bathrooms are cleaned daily.

  • Property Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the property, ensuring tenant security and that the facility remains tidy.

  • Groundskeeping: Help maintain the facility’s clean appearance by sweeping up leaves, picking up small debris, and ensuring the grounds are well-kept.

Note: All employees share these tasks equally, so the candidate should be comfortable with hands-on work and light cleaning.

Job Hours & Pay:

  • Schedule:

  • Until January 2025: 3 days per week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

  • From January 2025 onwards: 4 days per week (Wednesday through Saturday)

  • Hours:

  • 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (April through October)

  • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (November through March)

  • Wage: $22.00 per hour, paid twice a month (mid-month and end of month)

  • Benefits: No medical or dental benefits included
