IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Our Kelowna, BC client are looking for technically skilled candidates with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT Support Technician. The duties of an IT technician include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.
Resolving challenging business and technical issues while providing expert recommendations on day-to-day server and desktop software/hardware situations to clients. The successful candidate will provide onsite, front-line telephone and remote support and project implementations for a dynamic group of clients.
IT technicians are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. They are required to listen to their technical needs, understand their problems, and implement solutions to them.
Responsibilities:
Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Network equipment including routers, switches, access points, firewalls, VOIP.
Create project plans, charters, schedules.
Document all work done in ticketing system
Perform work remotely and on-site as required for multiple small and medium sized businesses.
Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
Conducting daily backup operations.
Managing technical documentation.
Requirements:
Must have in-depth knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, networks, TCP/IP, Windows RDS/Terminal Services, Microsoft Exchange, mobile devices, virtualization technologies, and Office 365
2+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance. Preferably in a Managed Services Provider environment

Good interpersonal skills.
Proficient in database programming and software installation.
Attention to detail.
Good problem-solving skills.
Preference will be given to applicants with MS 100/101 certification.
