OPERATIONS MANAGER
Location: West Kelowna, bC

Our West Kelowna manufacturing client is looking for a professional Operations Manager to coordinate and oversee the organization’s operations.
The specific duties include formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring material and resources and securing compliance. This role will mentor a team, find ways to increase quality and implement best practices across all levels.
Ultimately, you will help the company remain compliant, efficient and profitable during the course of business.
Responsibilities:
· Manage production planning and scheduling for on time and on budget.
· Manage company heath & safety program.
· Manage facility, plant & equipment preventative maintenance programs.
· Plan for manpower and equipment needs.
· Ensure on-going process and manufacturing continuous improvement.
· Create and manage training and performance metrics.
· Develop annual budgets and targets.
· Manage compliance with Provincial/Territorial, Local and Federal regulations.
· Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
· Provide leadership to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
· Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
· Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to define & determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.
· Review operating reports; improving operations and facilities to ensure cost effectiveness and on-time deliveries.
· Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
· Review and support Engineering and Sales to oversee product development and manufacturing concepts with fundamental or new technology/methods used for to provide cost reduction, safety, customer requirements and market growth.
· Ensure all personnel comply with training requirements, work standards, policies and procedures.
· Develop Team-Work and motivate members through setting of clear expectations and recognize and reward outstanding performance.
· Coordinate with other supervisors, leads, and managers to obtain maximum use of resources.
· Interface with customers and government personnel.
· Establish and monitor conformance with production specs, procedures, schedule and safety.
· Set the highest ethical standards for self and others.
· Interview, select, train and conduct performance evaluations of the staff.
· Ensure that outside services are properly supervised and completed in accordance with contracts or work orders.
· Responsible for fiscal management of unit.
Requirements:
· Minimum of (10) years management & leadership experience.
· Minimum of (10) years related experience managing operations in a production/manufacturing environment.
· Strong working knowledge of motivation, training, appraisal and general supervisory skills.
· Leadership ability and team building skills to effectively supervise professional and non-professional staff.
· Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams.
· Able to build and maintain lasting relationships interdepartmentally, key business partners, and customers.
· Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
· Able to find new methods and principles and ability to incorporate them into existing practices as needed.
· ERP experience considered an asset.
· Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
· Strong negotiation and prioritization skills.
· Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers and internal departments.
· Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking and able to work with minimal supervision.
· Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
· Organizational and time management skills
· Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
· High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
· Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures.
· High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
