TECHNICAL ENGINEER

Our Kelowna, BC Manufacturing client is searching for a detail-oriented, professional technical engineer to join their company. You should be able to deliver excellent customer support and make appropriate suggestions for improvement. The primary role of the technical engineer is to provide engineering support to assist in the sale of products. Secondary roles are to maintain the universal product codes (UPCs) and bill of materials (BOMs) for production and quoting purposes, providing technical support and inquiries to Customers’ & Service dept.
Responsibilities:
Engineering and replacement Quotes
Design and review of single-line and dimension drawings, Responding to salesman’s, Service Dept and Customer technical questions and requests.
Memorizing technical product specifications and keeping up-to-date with new company products as well as industry trends.
Conducting market research and obtaining feedback from clients to improve existing products.
Writing reports and liaising with the production team regarding issues, foreseeable problems, and effective solutions.
Simplifying technical terms during product demonstrations and post-sales customer support.
Maintaining strong professional relationships with existing clients and meeting with new clients to expand sales territories.
Updating orders and sales and negotiating the best contract terms.
Listening to customers’ needs and advising them on the best products to buy.
The creation of new UPC for quoting and production purposes.
The maintenance of spare parts lists/BOMs.
The contents and accuracy of the Standard BOM documents in the Engineering quotes folder.
Update BOMs thru all stages from Sales to Production for future projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar.
Experience in sales would be advantageous.
Strong customer service, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational, research, and multitasking abilities.
Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.
