Accounts Payable Specialist

Salary: $58,000 - $60,000 per year
Our Kelowna, BC client are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to manage and process all outgoing payments efficiently and accurately. This role involves handling financial transactions, verifying and reconciling invoices, and ensuring that all accounts are up to date. Responsibilities:
Process outgoing payments in alignment with company financial policies and procedures.
Manage daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly statements.
Facilitate timely payments by sending reminders and communicating with vendors and clients.
Generate reports on the status of accounts payable to keep management informed.
Understand and manage expense accounts and cost centers.
Ensure compliance with accounts payable processes, including handling W-9 forms and sales tax considerations.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, and manage financial records with accuracy.
Proficient in data entry and experienced with spreadsheets and accounting software.
Excellent command of English and proficiency in MS Office.
Experience with Sage 50 required.
High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is considered an asset.
