CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO)

Our client is looking for a responsible Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee their management team. This role will be accountable for overall operations, staffing, inventory management, KPI’s and organization of retail stores. Ensuring maximum profitability through execution of short and long-term strategies. As well as being responsible for providing leadership, executing corporate directives and developing strategies to maximize people development.
Responsibilities:
· Anticipate, analyze and determine all sales and operational opportunities within the marketplace and contribute ideas, strategies and innovations based on knowledge of local market conditions and store environment
· Ensure stores have proper inventory levels to support sales growth and to meet local market demand
· Manage all appropriate merchandising programs in an accurate and timely manner while adhering to established standards of store presentation
· Complete store visit per an established visitation cycle ensuring time for efficient and effective store visits and follow up as needed
· Ensure compliance with all revised reports and effectively manage schedules for Manager
· Hire, train, discipline, review, and terminate employees
· Facilitate working sessions with leaders, peers, and SMEs to design, build, and stabilize learning initiatives
· Run and lead weekly & monthly team meetings in person and remotely
· Additional duties as assigned
· Responsible for managing multiple teams in multiple locations in BC & Saskatchewan
Requirements:
· 3-5+ years progressive retail experience required
· 3-5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
· Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
· Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
· Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
· Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
· Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
· Must have current driver’s license
· Must be open to travel as required
