Electronics Field Service Technician

Our Kelowna, BC client is a leader in engineered solutions. Their service department is expanding and they are looking to add a talented and motivated Electronics Field Service Technician to their team!

Responsibilities:

  • Start-up and commissioning – ensuring the installation and initial operation of equipment meet specification and that on-site customer satisfaction is established

  • Annual and semi-annual preventative maintenance programs – maintaining equipment in order to persist customer assurance and prevent downtime by catching faults before they occur

  • On call service support

  • Customer reassurance through troubleshooting over the phone and providing technical service and support in the field

  • Provide field service and technical assistance to customers in the areas of installation, testing, start-up, maintenance, repair, basic operator training and troubleshooting support

  • Occasionally, the technician will provide assistance with production-related processes in house

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical testing and diagnostic equipment is essential.

  • Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada, UL924 Emergency Lighting Standard, and/or CSA 107.3 Uninterruptible Power Supplies is considered an asset

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting techniques

  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical testing using diagnostic equipment

  • Intermediate assembly, soldering and repairs of electronics

  • Technical diploma in electronics or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 2-3 years of field experience commissioning, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical distribution equipment and/or power electronic devices

  • Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • This position involves travel for work nation-wide. Applicants must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted class 5 driver’s license and be legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Must be eligible to hold a Canadian passport for occasional travel, as deemed necessary by the company
