Estimator
Location: Kelowna, BC
Position Status: OPEN
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
Our Kelowna client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join their team specializing in private custom homes. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Review blueprints, specifications, and project plans to develop accurate cost estimates.
Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment.
Collaborate with architects, designers, and clients to clarify project details and requirements.
Source and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare and present project budgets, bid proposals, and timelines to clients and stakeholders.
Monitor and update estimates to reflect project scope changes or adjustments.
Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.
Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project costs for future reference.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Estimator in custom home construction or a related field.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building codes in BC.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and negotiation skills to work with clients, vendors, and team members.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Relevant certifications or a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
