Financial Analyst - Real Estate


Location: Kelowna, BC

Our Kelowna, BC client is looking to add a Financial Analyst to their Finance Team. The ideal candidate will also have experience in Real Estate analysis.

Reporting to the Acquisitions & Financial Manager, the Financial Analyst will work closely with cross functional teams and be responsible for analyzing financial data, creating financial models and generating reports to aid in evaluating investment opportunities and ongoing projects. Your expertise will contribute to the overall success of the real estate development initiatives and help guide informed business decisions. A high level of analytical, technical and organizational skills are required for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Interest rate forecasting tool

  • Analyze real estate market trends and data to identify investment opportunities

  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate potential real estate investments

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on investment opportunities for internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data for investment decision-making

  • Utilize business intelligence tools to extract and analyze data for reporting purposes

  • Create data visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate findings and insights

  • Assist in the development of investment strategies and recommendations based on market research

  • Conduct due diligence on potential real estate acquisitions, including property inspections and financial analysis

  • Research and gather data on various cities and opportunities across Canada

  • Conduct industry and competitive research to identify land opportunities that meet our criteria and metrics

  • Research applicable provincial and municipal laws, regulations, rules and policies; provide interpretation of policy and procedure to staff and outside entities

  • Prepare necessary monthly and quarterly reports and maintain records for area of responsibility

  • Data collection, analysis and reporting for real estate forecasting

  • Prepare various reports for the finance department including investor reports and presentations

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, or a related field considered an asset

  • Intermediate Excel Skills (ability to use various formulas, lookups, pivot tables etc. and maintain complex spreadsheets required), Outlook, PowerPoint and Word

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in using databases and software applications (e.g., Access, Outlook)

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to learn and grow in the real estate industry
