Health and Safety Coordinator


Location: Vernon, BC

Position Status: CLOSED

Our client is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to help them monitor operations to eliminate hazardous activities. Assist with developing policies to promote health and safety awareness.

This role will aid in investigating and reporting workplace injuries and incidents, including recommendation to prevent reoccurrence. Investigate workplace hazard reports and safety concerns. Develop safe work procedures, safety reports, and maintain appropriate records. Your work will be focused on prevention so you need to be organized and analytical.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks

  • Enforce Safety & Health policies (e.g. accident reporting process)

  • Direct accident investigation procedures

  • Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions

  • Organize and conduct training plans

  • Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues

  • Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as safety coordinator or similar role

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety guidelines and practices

  • Experience in reporting and developing policies

  • Experience in implementing training programs

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Excellent communication and advisory skills

  • Organized with an analytical mind
