Human Resources Advisor


Location: Vancouver, Surrey or Edmonton.

Position Status: CLOSED

Our client is looking to add a Human Resources Advisor to their outstanding HR team. HR Advisor responsibilities include providing interviewing tips to hiring managers, advise Managers on performance management techniques and problem solve performance issues and discipline steps.

 and designing company policies. To be successful in this role, you should have an academic and professional background in HR, along with good understanding of labor legislation.

Ultimately, you will ensure the Human Resources department nurtures a healthy work environment and contributes to achieving our business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and recommend performance evaluation methods (e.g. employee appraisal systems)

  • Design and help implement company policies

  • Review and update job descriptions

  • Train hiring managers on candidate interview evaluation techniques

  • Conduct internal surveys to gather employee feedback and identify areas of improvement

  • Monitor key recruiting metrics, like turnover and retention rates

  • Address employee requests and potential issues (e.g. grievances)

  • Assist in organizing employer branding initiatives

  • Act as the point of contact for hiring managers, employees and other HR team members

Requirements:

  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in Human Resources is beneficial

  • Experience in a unionized environment is preferred

  • Completion of post secondary program in Human Resources is an asset

  • Certified CPHR or working towards certification is an asset

  • Experience in a healthcare setting with multiple locations is an asset

  • Demonstrated excellent client service skills and superior interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrating strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated knowledge of provincial labour laws, workers’ compensation, and union relations

  • Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities
