Payroll & Benefits Manager

Location: Burnaby, BC

Base Salary: $80,000 to $95,000 per year

Our Burnaby client is hiring a Payroll & Benefit Manager to join their team and oversee payroll operations and employee benefit programs in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role ensures compliance with all regulations while supporting a seamless experience for employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Administer employee benefits, including health, retirement, and other programs.

  • Maintain and reconcile payroll records, ensuring compliance with all laws.

  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries professionally.

  • Oversee relationships with payroll service providers (e.g., ADP).

  • Stay informed on payroll tax laws and industry trends.

  • Prepare year-end reports (e.g., T4s) and reconcile accounts.

  • Journalize payroll transactions and manage intercompany charges.

  • Support audits and ensure adherence to internal controls.

  • Develop and refine payroll policies and processes.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in payroll and benefits; certification is a plus (e.g., PCP, CPM).

  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is highly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll/benefits laws and best practices.

  • Proficient in Excel, HRIS systems, and accounting software.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.

  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
