CFO/SENIOR CONTROLLER
Location: Kelowna & Revelstoke, BC
Position Status: CLOSED
Our Construction client, an award winning general contractor and design builder is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Senior Controller to perform effective risk management and plan the organization’s financial strategy. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all aspects of financial management and have a strong accounting experience dealing with a group of companies and consolidations.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader since all relative departments of the organization will be under their command.
Responsibilities:
Drive the company’s financial planning
Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
Supervise all finance personnel
Manage vendor relationships
Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
Provide strategic management of the accounting and finance functions
Manage or oversee the relationship with independent auditors
Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of a company’s financial information
Oversee financial systems implementations and upgrades
Requirements:
Proven experience as CFO, finance officer or relevant role
Construction Accounting experience considered an asset
In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
Ability to strategize and solve problems
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication and people skills
An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
CPA designation is mandatory
BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
Must be able to travel to various offices in BC on a regular basis
